ICU NURSE DONATES PART OF LIVER TO SAVE BOY’S LIFE

In Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, a nurse at an intensive care unit took some time off of work this summer to donate part of her kidney to an eight-year-old boy, saving his life.

Back in April, Brayden Auten got sick and doctors figured out that he had an aggressive virus that was attacking his liver.

He was desperate for a liver transplant and time was running out.

That’s when nurse Cami Loritz stepped up and agreed to see if she was a match. Sure enough -- she was. And, doctors were able to perform the procedure and get Brayden back on his feet.

Brayden’s mom, Ruth, considers Cami a “true miracle” and a member of the family moving forward.

And, thanks to Cami’s sacrifice, Brayden is back in school, excited to be hanging out with his friends again. (New York Post)
