Dr. Sanjay Gupta Shares When You Can Expect to Receive the COVID Vaccine

On the heels of the release of Pfizer and Moderna’s COVID vaccines, many are wondering when they’ll be able to get their shots. Dr. Sanjay Gupta shared with Ryan Seacrest that yes, the distribution process is slower than it should be, but fret not.

“We’re not treating this like the emergency it is,” Dr. Gupta admitted when it comes to distribution. “... The good news is I’ll tell you, CVS and Walgreens, most communities across America have one of these, by the end of this month they’ll have long-term care facility residents largely vaccinated [and] I think they’ll shift their attention,” he added, revealing the next round of recipients will then get the vaccine at a more readily available pace and be able to call up their pharmacies.

Dr. Gupta also shared his parents were able to get the vaccine and albeit the process involved essentially camping out overnight, it was ultimately successful.

“The system worked for them,” he confirmed, revealing they located a library that had 300 vaccines available for the elderly and waited hours to receive it. “Hopefully that will be the case for people around the country.”

So, when can you expect to receive the vaccine?
