We can always count on Jenny McCarthy to keep it real. The Masked Singer judge Zoomed with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Wednesday, September 23, and shared honest relationship advice when it comes to her six-year strong marriage to Donnie Wahlberg. McCarthy also shared how the Masked Singer has adapted amid the new socially distanced guidelines.
“Everybody I talk to, they’re disappointed, like, ‘Where’s Donnie?’” McCarthy joked after Seacrest pointed out that she’s using Donnie’s Zoom account and the fact they share passwords.
“It is [good for your marriage] and you know what else is good? If you’ve never ever even been tempted to look at your partner’s phone,” Jenny added. “Ever. Never once. Never even [have I peered over] when I’m sitting next to him.”
The podcast host, who married Donnie in 2014, added that’s “when you know” is when you can fully trust your partner — and when you know your own self-worth.
“Thats how you know and that’s how you also know you have spiritually grown because you also feel if he’s doing anything wrong, that's his loss because I’m awesome,” she quipped.
So, what else do the couple believe keeps a marriage strong?
“I would say always go back to the conversations when you first met,” Jenny added. “[Like], ‘Remember when we first met?’ … You go through those kind of memories and that helps keep things vibrant. Also, date nights.”
Jenny admitted they even go as far as to role play and will get a hotel room for an escape form the kids.
“It’s so much fun … you have to kind of do that kind of stuff because anybody that’s been in a relationship for a long time, you don’t want it to turn into ‘brother and sister.’”
