Luke Bryan, Ryan Seacrest Share How ‘American Idol’ Will Resume Filming

Luke Bryan is quite the prankster! The country crooner and American Idol judge phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest and relived pranking his wife, Caroline, in that now viral social post and also shared how they’ll navigate the current season of American Idol amid COVID-19 quarantine.

In case you missed it, Luke posted an LOL-worthy video of himself scaring his wife on her bike with a faux train horn. In the video, Luke is driving his truck and can be heard saying “She’s about to get hit with the train horn and she doesn’t know.” Caroline, startled from the horn, then attempts to navigate her bike before tumbling over in the grass.

“I just sit around in quarantine just waiting for the retaliation and it will be rough on me but I got her good,” Luke shared with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, April 10. “One of my hillbilly buddies installed a train horn on my truck so it’s quite fun to blow the horn at people.”

The "One Margarita" singer has been in isolation with his family but will soon get back to work on American Idol along with Seacrest, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and the contestants. Luke and Seacrest shared they’re in the middle of figuring out how they’ll safely broadcast from their respective homes.

“I don’t want us to let their dreams down,” Luke said of his main priority being the Idol hopefuls. “I want us to be really able to showcase these kids to the best of our ability and I think we’re going to be able to do that. It’s gonna be an interesting way we go about it and it’s going to be a living and breathing thing we that we’re gonna have to figure out week after week … [but] the talent this year is really exciting and I want to give them every opportunity to shine.”

Until then, American Idol continues to air in its usual time slot on Sundays on ABC at 8/7c. Listen back to Seacrest’s interview with Luke above for more and check out Luke's new single "One Margarita" streaming everywhere.
