James Corden Teaches Ryan How to Rap Battle, Master Trading Bars

Game on! James Corden phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, April 26, to further excite us about season 2 of Drop the Mic and taught Ryan how to master trading bars.

“The trick is you’ve got to take your time,” the Late Late Show with James Corden host explained. “Don’t feel like you’ve got to — some times when people arrive to do it — they think they’ve got to power through it very quickly, [but], actually you want those put-downs to fly and then you can gather yourself a little bit and then carry on with the next one.”

The key, Corden added, is if you’re not the best at rapping (Ahem, Ryan) then you want people to hear what you’re saying so you get points for being clever 👌🏼

Season 2 kicked off with Shaquille O' Neal trading bars with comedian Ken Jeong and Corden teased that it only gets better.

“[This Sunday] Seth Rogen is going up against Joseph Gordon Levitt which is two people who have a long history and a very true friendship so they know the stuff they wanna say and they know the things that can get that person and know it’s all in great jest.”

Drop the Mic airs Sundays at 10:30 p.m. on TBS. Listen to the full interview above to hear Corden hilariously school Ryan’s Beverly Hills to the Upper East Side street cred.

By the way, Ryan wasn't bad! Watch below to see how he did while competing against Kelly Ripa on Live! With Kelly and Ryan 😂
