Watch Dua Lipa Dedicate Her BRIT Award To 'Women Taking Over The World'

Dua Lipa was the first big winner from Wednesday night's (February 21) 2018 BRIT Awards when she picked up the title for Best Female Solo Artist and her acceptance speech deserves your utmost attention.

Besting competitors like Jessie Ware, Kate Tempest, Laura Marling and Paloma Faith, the British pop star took to the podium and decided to devote the win to all of the women who have come before her. "Thank you so, so much. I am grateful for this and so humbled," she kicked off her speech. "I want to thank every single female that has been on this stage before me and has given girls like me a place to be inspired by and [someone to] look up to and allow us to dream."

It was a fitting speech given that the award was presented by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and Kylie Minogue. "Here's to more women on these stages, winning these awards and taking over the world," she continued.

Elsewhere in the evening, the 22-year-old star recreated the video for "New Rules" for her show-stopping performance and even won the award for British Breakthrough Act. "My little brother and sister probably think I'm crazy for bringing them up on stage with me," she told the O2 Arena audience. "But the reason I did this was at the bottom of my album, I thanked everybody and I also told them to believe in magic because it's real. This is the closest I've come to it, so I wanted them to experience it firsthand."
