Thanksgiving Traffic Expected To Be The Worst Since 2005, Especially In LA

As the holidays approach there are a lot of things to be thankful for, but to people in Los Angeles the traffic is not one of them. It seems that every Thanksgiving, pictures of the 405 go viral and there's nothing we can really do about it. This year is a little different, being labeled one of the highest traveling years since 2005. More than 54 million Americans are planning to travel all over this Thanksgiving weekend and large cities (looking at you LA) are expected to notice the worse than normal traffic conditions. A thirteen year high!

Holiday travel by car is predicted to increase by 5 percent, which is also how majority of people will be traveling for the second year in a row, so get ready for those insane delays.

Over 45 million people are expected to start their travels between Wednesday, November 21st and Sunday, November 25th. This will be two million more than 2017.

AAA did their research and shared that the absolute worst time to hit the road for Thanksgiving in Los Angeles will be Wednesday between 2:30PM and 4:30PM. During this time frame it may take drivers twice as long to get to their destination... I'd rather stay home! Imagine going to LAX!? NO WAY!

If you have to travel, make a good playlist (or listen to my new podcast You Saw What - you should!!), pack some snacks, be patient and relax while you wait in that traffic. Stay safe as accidents could still happen at slow speeds, especially when people are getting impatient and trying to weave in and out of lanes!

Check out the worst days to travel here.

These pictures are insane!
