Adam Levine had some bold thoughts to share while reflecting on the early days of Maroon 5.
In a recent interview to promote his band's new single, "Beautiful Mistakes," a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, Levine, 41, claimed that "there arenโt any bands anymore." "It's funny, when the first Maroon 5 album came out, there were still other bands," he declared. "I feel like there arenโt any bands anymore, you know? Thatโs the thing that makes me kind of sad. Thereโs no bands anymore, and I feel like theyโre a dying breed."
After recognizing the gravity of his statement, he went on to (somewhat) clarify that he just wants more bands on the scene. "I mean, there still are plenty of bands, and maybe theyโre not in the limelight quite as much, or in the pop limelight, but I wish there could be more of those around," he continued.
Levine, who shares two daughters, Dusty, 4, and Gio, 3, with wife Behati Prinsloo, also said that he's been playing his daughters old Avril Lavigne records. "You go back and rewatch these old videos and listen to these old songs โฆ that gives you tears. It's crazy, because you donโt remember it in the same way, because you took it for granted. โฆ It was just part of what you had on the radio," the singer reminisced. "Thereโs some really great songs that I didnโt understand how good they were back then."
