Former First Lady Melania Trump reportedly plans to attend the Republican National Convention next week though her role at the event, which will formally name her husband, former President Donald Trump as the party's presidential nominee, remains unclear, CNN reports.

Discussions on whether Melania, 54, will speak onstage at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee and be included in the RNC's official programming are reportedly ongoing, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The former first lady has kept a low profile during her husband's 2024 campaign, having only made two public appearances at his campaign kickoff at their Mar-a-Lago home in November 2022, as well as accompanying the former president to vote in the Florida presidential primary.

Melania also made sporadic appearances at private events in recent months, which included hosting a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans, a conservative LGBTQ group, at the couple's Trump Tower residence in New York, as well as an April fundraiser with her husband at the home of investor John Paulson. The former first lady was previously absent from her husband's court appearances for his hush money trial in New York earlier this year, as well as the first presidential debate in Atlanta last month.

Trump advisers and allies claim that Melania is supportive of her husband and his political ambitions, but is focused on raising their son, Barron, 18, who made his first appearance at his father's rally in Florida earlier this week.
