Marvel May Move Forward With R-Rated Black Widow Movie
It seems like Marvel superhero Black Widow will be the first Avenger to get an R-rated film. The gossip blog Crazy Days & Nights first made the report and according to the blog if the move goes wrong "they have a woman to blame for it which is what the studio wanted." Now if you're already giving the blog site the side eye, it's to be noted that the site also got right the whole Tom Cruise and Chris McQuarrie Green Lantern saga. Nothing has been announced officially yet, but many think Black Widow would be the ideal character to delve into with an R-rating.
Rami Malek Wins SAG Acting Award For "Bohemian Rhapsody"
Bohemian Rhapsody keeps racking up accolades. Fresh off winning a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, Rami Malek nabbed another prize. At the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Malek took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. Speaking to the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall audience, the 37-year-old thanked the band and Mercury in his acceptance speech, saying "I get some power from him that is about stepping up and living your best life and being exactly who you want to be and accomplishing everything you so desire. I feel that, and he allows us all to feel that. So this is again for him." The box office-busting biopic was also up for the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category but lost out to Black Panther.
Fans Are Upset With the Black Panther Cast
After winning the top prize at last night's SAG Awards, some fans weren't happy with the cast of the film for not including the creator of the superhero in their acceptance speech. Chadwick Boseman, who played the role of Black Panther, spoke for the cast and thanked the director, Disney execs, producers, and Marvel Studios execs, but didn't say anything about creator Stan Lee or co-creator Jack Kirby. That sent fans on Twitter into a tizzy. Combine that with the fact that Lee wasn't mentioned during the "In Memoriam" portion of the show and you've got a real problem with Marvel fans. After the win, Michael B. Jordan did that Lee and Kirby when he made comments after the win, but fans didn't think that was enough.
Grenade Found At Florida Taco Bell
While searching for sunken treasure on Saturday, a Florida man pulled up a World War II era hand grenade from the waters in Ocklawaha. All that hard fishing must have left the man hungry, so he tossed the explosive device in the trunk of his car and headed to the local Taco Bell. Once in the parking lot, the man then called police to inform them of his find. Ocala officers shut the restaurant down for the day as a precaution, calling in the bomb squad, who verified that the grenade was indeed authentic and said they would dispose of it properly.
