Tyra Banks Signs Deal With Universal Television
Congratulations to Tyra Banks for signing a deal with Universal Television to develop scripted and unscripted content for the network. Right now you can catch the model/actress on NBC's 'America's Got Talent,' and just so you know, her new deal won't effect her being part of 'AGT.' "Tyra is one of the most driven producers in television," says Universal TV President Pearlena Igbowke. Tyra won two Daytime Emmys for her 'Tyra Banks' daytime talk show, and her other show 'America's Next Top Model' has been on TV for 24 seasons.
HBO Gives Quick Peek at Season 8 of ‘Game of Thrones’
Even though you have to wait till next year for the eighth and final season of 'Game of Thrones.' HBO is giving a quick peek at what's to come for the final season in a new trailer. The footage is part of the latest HBO promo trailer for upcoming shows, but make sure to not blink too fast or you'll miss it. In the footage, you see Jon Snow giving Sansa Stark a hug, and even though it looks like old stuff, it's actually the two reuniting at Winterfell. After their embrace, the words "Final Season" show on the screen. The final season of 'GOT' airs late 2019.
Plan to Rob Demi Lovato’s Home Uncovered
A burglar's plan to rob Demi Lovato's home while she's out of state in rehab has been uncovered by the LAPD. The thieves were arrested after electronic communications were discovered about their plans to rob the house once TMZ reported that she would be away. According to TMZ, LAPD increased security around Lovato's home, and so far, no break-ins or other disturbances have been reported. Demi remains in a rehab facility, let's hope her house stays safe too.
‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Tops in Theaters Again
'Crazy Rich Asians' is tops at the box office for the second week in a row. The film dropped only 6 percent from its opening weekend bringing in $25 million, and the film has now collected $76.8 million in North America. The same can't be said for ticket sales overseas, only taking in $7.1 million in smaller territories. Plus, there's no word on whether China will import the movie. Rounding out the top three was 'The Meg' at number two, and 'Happytime Murders' disappointed with a third place opening.
Early ‘Aquaman’ Screenings Are Here
Aquaman hits theaters in December, and early reactions to the film are lukewarm. The general thought about the latest DC standalone is that it's good, but not great. Some are even saying the flick is like a phase 1 Marvel movie. Don't panic too much, test screenings are usually not the final product, but it seems like fans were looking to get a little more. Only time will tell.
Danny Boyle Quits Bond 25 Over "Ridiculous" Plan
Danny Boyle quit his role as director of the 25th installment in the James Bond franchise over what he calls a "ridiculous" idea in the script from the film's star. The movie's official Twitter account confirmed the decision, citing "creative differences." Could you imagine James Bond dying? Neither could Boyle. But that's exactly how lead actor Daniel Craig saw his stint as the spy to coming to an end, asking for a "spectacular finale." With the departure of Boyle, Bond 25 will likely be delayed into 2020.
