Let's Talk About... Asthma

Asthma SUCKS.

There, I said it. I have exercise induced asthma, which means that if I sprint a lot or overuse my lungs in a workout, I'll get that horrible chest tightness and it feels like fluid is filling up my lungs because I can't catch my breath.

Have you ever had an asthma attack before? Yeah, not fun. At all. The best way I can describe the asthma attacks I've experienced is that it feels like I'm drowning. I seriously just can't breathe! I try and try to suck in as much air as I can and, in some cases, people have passed out from lack of oxygen.

If you've ever experienced the following, you need to see Dr. Arseneau at Valley Allergy and Asthma Clinic:

  • Your asthma or allergies are interfering with your ability to carry on day-to-day activities or decreasing your quality of life.
  • You are experiencing warning signs of serious asthma such as:- You sometimes have to struggle to catch your breath.- You often wheeze or cough, especially at night or after exercise.- You are frequently short of breath or feel tightness in your chest.
  • You have previously been diagnosed with asthma, and you have frequent asthma attacks even though you are taking asthma medication.

These are HUGE indicators that something really needs to be done to get these symptoms under control!

Dr. Arseneau is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Adult and Pediatric Allergy, Asthma, Immunology. This means she knows what she's doing! She helped me with my asthma and even discovered a few new allergies a couple of years ago. It's definitely time for me to head back and get a new inhaler!

Trust me, don't put off going to the doctor and ignoring your symptoms! Go see Dr. Arseneau at Valley Allergy and Asthma Clinic out in Palmer, or check her out online at matsuallergy.com
