Lydia Rosebush, a mom from Louisville, posted a story on Facebook about her 5-year-old son, Jax, who wanted to get the same haircut as his best friend, Reddy, to fool their teacher.
The post has since gone viral. You see, Jax is white and Reddy is black.
Lydia shared this photo of the two boys from December, before Jax's haircut:

According to his his mom, Jax literally doesn't realize his friend is black (or he doesn't realize he's white).
"If this isn't proof that hate and prejudice is something that is taught I don't know what is," Lydia wrote. "The only difference Jax sees in the two of them is their hair."
GAH. ALL THE FEELS.
Once Jax got the haircut, Lydia posted the "after" photo, and my heart seriously melted.
I hope they stay best friends FOREVER. Can you imagine retelling this story to their kids? We live in a world where all people can seem to see IS color. Let these little boys be a lesson to us all to love one another no matter what boundaries society may try to erect between us.
