Kelly Clarkson Filling in for Simon Cowell on 'America's Got Talent' Following His Bike Accident
The first American Idol and host of “The Voice” will be taking the reins on “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Kelly Clarkson made the announcement via Twitter on Monday.
“My friend, Simon Cowell, is doing better now but was in an accident and won’t be able to make Tuesday and Wednesday’s live shows for ‘AGT,’ but no worries America, someone far wiser, cooler, and hotter is taking his seat!” she joked. “The unbelievably amazing Kelly Clarkson. You’re welcome in advance!”
Cowell broke his back while testing out his new electronic bike over the weekend. He took to social media to thank the doctors and nurses who helped him following back surgery.
If you’re thinking of getting yourself an electric bike, Simon has some advice: “If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time,” he joked. “I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.”

The pandemic drove talk show hosts out of studios and into their homes to continue to provide content.
Stephen Colbert and James Corden became the latest hosts to return to shooting their late-night shows in a studio setting on Monday.
Colbert's office at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York was recreated as a set inside the office building. Corden returned to his studio at TelevisionCity in Hollywood. Corden's opening segment used painful plexiglass collisions to highlight the new normal.
Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien previously returned to a stripped-down studio version of their shows.
Forbes' List of Highest Paid Actors This Year
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has, for his second year in a row, topped Forbes' list of highest-paid actors. The actor was paid nearly $88 million over the last twelve months, including $23.5 million for his role in Netflix's upcoming film, Red Notice.
The world's second-highest-paid actor, Ryan Reynolds, earned nearly $72 million and will appear with The Rock in Red Notice. Mark Wahlberg came in at number three on Forbes' list, earning $58 million.
Rounding out Forbes' list of highest-paid actors are Ben Affleck at $55 million and action star Vin Diesel at $54 million.
