‘Tom and Jerry’ Director, Animator Gene Deitch Dies in Prague at 95

Oscar winning director, Gene Deitch has died. Best known for directing the animated series, Tom and Jerry, Deitch was born in 1924 in Chicago but moved to Prague after falling in love with his future wife. 

Deitch’s movie, “Munro,” awarded him the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1960.

While co-producing “Sidney’s Family Tree”, he created “Tom Terrific,” which eventually led to “Tom and Jerry,” in 2004 he was awarded the Winsor McCay Award for his lifelong contribution to animation. 

Deitch is survived by his second wife and three children. According to Deitch’s Czech publisher, Petr Himmel, the director died unexpectedly overnight on April 16th, he was 95.

Eminem Celebrates 12 Years of Sobriety… As Rapper Reveals He’s ‘Not Afraid’

Eminem is celebrating 12 years of sobriety. The “Lose Yourself” singer posted a picture of his sobriety coin on Tuesday with the caption, “Clean dozen, in the books! I’m not afraid.”

Several fans congratulated Em on his accomplishment and shared their own stories of sobriety. Eminem credits his daughters for helping him kick his prescription opioid habit. 

During the release of his 2010 album, Recovery Eminem said he was “better than ever” and that putting out an album like Recovery let people know, “that no matter how down you are, it does get better.”

‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Already in the Works

The third season of Disney's The Mandalorian has already begun pre-production. 

According to sources, director Jon Favreau has been hard at work writing season three for a while now and the art department has also been hard at work on concepts for the series "over the past few weeks." 

Many consider the folks behind The Mandalorian lucky to have wrapped production on season two just before the coronavirus pandemic shut down Hollywood. 

The second season of the series will hit Disney Plus in October. 

‘Friends’ Coming to HBO Max in May

HBO Max has finally given a date for when Friends will debut on their streaming service and that date is May 27. 

The new streaming platform is set to launch next month and fans can now look forward to hanging out with Joey Rachel, Chandler, Ross, Monica, and Joey for endless hours. 

HBO Max will offer movies and shows from the Warner Bros catalog, acquired titles from around the world, and of course the HBO catalog. 

Oh, if you're wondering about that Friends reunion, it's still a go, but there's been no date set because of the coronavirus pandemic.
