Tonight is the night … the American Idol finale! Will it be Jena Irene or Caleb Johnson who wins it all?

The two stopped by On Air with Ryan Seacrest to chat about their thoughts on winning and what was going through their heads when they took the stage for the last time on Tuesday night.

“Throughout this whole process I never thought I’d get to the Top 2,” explains Jena, who was the Wild Card this season. “But looking out at the crowd was just amazing.”

As for Caleb, being in the final was a long time coming. After all, the 23-year-old competed on both Seasons 10 and 11 before finally making it this year. “Every time I auditioned, I’d make it a little farther … the whole experience was just insane,” he explains. “It’s so surreal now that I’m in the Top 2 on American Idol. It’s been a blessing and it’s been awesome.”

And with all of the long hours rehearsing for Idol, there has come little time for dating for Caleb. “This whole thing is we’re in this bubble. This is the last night, so I’m going out!”

The finale of American Idol is tonight, May 21, at 8/7c on FOX.
