Start of week 3,
Today I experienced ROLFING.... A lot of you probably going, "HUH?!?"
Well let me explain. Rolfing is based on the simple ideas about human structure. Most of us are significantly out of alignment with gravity. We function better when we are lined up with the gravitational field of the earth. Sound crazy? It's not. Think of it as your massage therapist and chiropractor had a baby. Had my first session with Leslie, and she worked mostly my shoulders, lower back and hip areas. She could tell just by looking at me that my upper rib had moved into my shoulder and neck line. Don't think it's possible? Go back to your 7th grade biology class dealing with skeletons. She loosened up the tissue around my neck and shoulder and actually physically moved it back into place. Crazy, huh? It was one of the weirdest but most reliving feelings ever. She even moved a tendon in my shoulder back to where it should be in the bicepital groove.
The human body is so plastic that its alignment can be brought into harmony with gravity at practically anytime of life.
