When groom Kelly Turney announced a last-minute addition to the wedding party, his bride Becky was surprised to meet honorary groomsman Jacob Kilby for the first time. He’s the man who received her late son Triston Green’s heart after he died in 2015 at the age of 19.
The groom made the arrangements for Kilby to fly to Alaska for the nuptials so “Triston could be there in spirit. “When Kelly announced Jacob was in the crowd my jaw dropped, I couldn’t believe it!” the bride explains. “I squealed like a little girl, jumped up and down, and couldn’t wait to embrace him.”
Becky even got the chance to hear her son’s heart beating in Kilby’s chest with a stethoscope. “Hands down the best gift ever,” she writes on her Facebook page. “Most amazing surprise ever.”
