Listen to One Direction on iHeartRadio

Britain's Daily Mail is smoking out new controversy involving members of the boy band One Direction.

A leaked video supposedly shows group members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik smoking a joint in the backseat of a van.  Louis, who is apparently filming the video,  is heard identifying the drug at the beginning of the five-minute clip.

The video appears to have been taken back in April near the start of One Direction's latest world tour in South America.  Louis supposedly narrates the video while filming the streets of Lima and passing the joint around five others in the car.  Zayn appears to be the only other bandmate present.

The video also shows a policeman on a motorbike riding alongside the car, as the voice identified as Louis' jokes "He's having a look. He's thinking, 'I'm sure I can smell an illegal substance in there.'"

It's unclear how the video was leaked.  Dan Wootton, a reporter for The Sun, tweeted that a rep for the band responded by saying "This matter is in the hands of our lawyers."
